Practices and theories on developing courses for vocational education: Focusing on learning and skills------- A lecture by Prof. Jiang Dayuan in SIPIVT

On September 6th, Prof. Jiang Dayuan, director of the vocational education research center of

department of Education; chief editor of Chinese Vocational and Technical education, vice- president of developing national demonstrations of vocational institutes was invited to give a lecture to the faculty and other professionals in the main campus of SIPIVT. Dr. Shanqiang, President of SIPIVT, hosted this lecture.

    During this lecture, Prof. Jiang presented three aspects of designing systematic courses: interpreting conceptions, developing designs, innovating theories clarifying the fundamental components, general ideas and technical guidelines of developing systematic courses based on the working steps by exemplifying a number of detailed and specific cases in China and abroad. Prof. Jiang’s lecture is not only of great value for providing guidelines for course design in our institute and deepening our understandings about higher vocational education’s features and its future development but also offers a clear direction for our specialty construction and course reform.

    Dr. ShanQiang also introduced the latest progress of constructing the national demonstrations of vocational institutes in our institute. During his stay at SIPIVT, Prof. Jiang visited our labs chatting with directors of all departments and was pleased to accept the post of the President’s Special Consultant of SIPIVT.
